The reason for my standing in the Wadhurst Parish Council election, is a desire to give something back to the village which has and continues to be a wonderful place to live.
Just to set the record straight, I am part of the group "Caring for Wadhurst and its residents"- these are 15 individuals with individual views and are not a block vote, as has been suggested. I will serve, listen and represent the views of parishioners, asking for their regular feedback. My wife (who works in the village) and I have lived in Wadhurst for 12 years. I wish to offer my services as a "new pair of eyes" looking at the challenges that come with the position. My aim is to see the village thrive with continued improvements of amenities for the businesses and residents. Bus, rail and car parking facilities play a key role in the survival of the village. As a commuter I am against any downgrading of rail links and strongly oppose any supermarket development, having seen at first hand the resultant destruction of local amenities and businesses where I grew up. As an active member of the church, I am keen to see further outreach and co-operation between the village groups representing all interests and ages. I believe it is imperative to seek views on what services need to be introduced or improved. TOGETHER we can further improve and develop the village that WE ALL LOVE. TO DO THIS, I NEED YOUR SUPPORT. |
