“PIRATES” - THE PANTOMIME

26-28 January & 2-4 February 2012

The Wadhurst Dramatic Club's forthcoming pantomime is "Pirates", written by Sharon Hulm.  It features Bluebeard, the notorious pirate captain and mega-bigamist whose crew, interestingly enough, is made up almost exclusively of females (!), along with a fair sprinkling of much-loved fairy tale characters, including Red Riding Hood, Goldie Locks, Cinderella, the Wicked Queen, Widow Twanky and a rather foppish Prince Charming. Animal characters also figure in the shape of a ship's Cat who rises to the rank of Captain, a huffing and a-puffing Wolf (or is he??) and three rodents (rats, that is...). And, for the benefit of any audience members who may be of a nervous disposition, it's only fair to point out that there's a bony, grinning chorus of scary skeletons who appear without warning at night and eerily dance around any unsuspecting sleepers...!

The best dressed Pirate in the audience at each performance will be awarded a prize, so start carving your wooden legs now and birdnap a parrot. There will also be a lucky programme prize, too!

Ticket prices & Box Office arrangements

Adults                   £8
Under 16s             £5
Family ticket         £25 (this will admit a Family Group of 5)
Groups                 1 free ticket for every 10 purchased (i.e. 11 for the price of 10) - by 'phone only.

There will be a break in the course in the week after Easter and an important day is 31st March Saturday which is when the two groups get together for a day out.
