Notes made at a Planning Meeting held on 12 March 2009 at 18:00
in the Ticehurst Village Institute

Declarations of interest by any Councillors regarding the list below should be made prior to the meeting or to that item being deliberated
Present:  Councillors Goodall, Hastings, Langdown, Maynard, Rigby

Ticehurst RR/2009/604/P

14 Hilbury Gardens High Street Ticehurst – To divide existing property into two dwellings and reinstate original gateway to rear of property.

Observations: Applicant was present who explained that she wished to divide the house in two as many of her children had left home and she no longer needed seven bed rooms. Parking spaces would be available at the front of the property. Councillors felt that the application was a reasonable one and noted that this would create an extra dwelling that should come off the allocation contained in the Core Strategy for this area.

Ticehurst RR/2009/260/P

Wordsworth House High Street Ticehurst – Change of use from residential and shop to a single dwelling house

Observations: It was felt that whilst the Council attempt to retain commercial premises, this was an existing permission that was being extended
Flimwell RR/2009/312/P

Cherry Tree Nursery The Mount Flimwell - Retention of chalet mobile home

Observations: Applicants present
Four members of the public - against the proposal.  It was explained that the site had been occupied since 2001 and various enforcement notices had been served on the occupants. The applicants explained that when they had met with ROC and Social Workers it had been suggested to them that they use their 'gypsy status' to apply to retain the chalet home. Councillors, whilst sympathetic to their situation felt that the area was on agricultural land, within the AONB and outside the village envelope and therefore recommended refusal of the application.

Stonegate RR/2009/329/P

Bricklehurst Manor Farm Bardown Road Stonegate –Proposed new drive and entrance

Observations :  It was felt that there was a better route to the southern side of the farm than the one proposed, and the sight lines at the access point on the application were not good. There was no 'planning reason1 to object to the application

Ticehurst RR/2009/384/T

Coopers Cottage St Mary's Lane Ticehurst – Dismantle one Silver Birch in rear garden to ground level

Observations : Cllr. Maynard reported that the tree, having reached semi-maturity was interfering with the old wall around the garden. Recommend approval
