Mr Morris, landlord of The White Hart described his proposals for the forecourt
of The White Hart and was advised that his agent should discuss them with
the WDC Conservation Officer, Paul Barker before formally submitting them
WD/2007/2467/F Windmill, Castle Walk
Demolition of existing single storey structure to the construction of a replacement
double storey structure plus an additional single storey extension to the
rear of the property at the west end
Strongly object as the proposal conflicts with the local plan policy HG10 in that the extension area is approximately 50% of the existing area. It is also considered that the flat roof of the lounge and w.c extension is inappropriate.
It is also pointed out that the drawing does not show any internal access to the new lounge.
WD/2007/2479/F Monks Park, Monks Lane
New entrance pillars, gates and railings plus replacement conservatory.
Object as it is considered that the style of the conservatory, gates and railings is inappropriate for the period of the house.
WD/2007/2427/F 19 Deepdene
Single storey conservatory to rear of property.
No objection
WD/2007/2305/LB Ladymeads, Lower Cousley Wood
Removal of existing ground floor window from south east elevation and wall
below window opening and installation of pair of french doors.
No objection.
WD/2007/2076/F Grain store, Sparrows Green
Conversion of existing two storey building to a 2 bed dwelling with a room
in the roof. Amended plans- Application site area (edged red) revised. Proposed
west elevation drawing. Drawing Nos. 100A & 110A date stamped 8.08.07.
Two local residents from George Street expressed their concerns which are reflected in our comments
No objection in principle but object to the balcony which could allow for overlooking of gardens in George Street. Would also object to the roof lights on the west elevation unless they were glazed with obscured glass and the amount of opening restricted to prevent similar overlooking.
WD/2007/1769/F Manor Cottage, Faircrouch Lane
To extend and alter the existing dwelling house and to extend the access drive
to the southern elevation. Amended plan - Red edging altered to north east
boundary. Drawing No 013-2A date stamped 17.06.07.. Amended plan - Alterations
to driveway to be contained closer to the existing dwelling and garaging
area and additional landscaping. Drawing No. 013-2B date stamped 13.07/07
No objections
WD2007/1070/MAJ Land off Courthope Avenue
Construction 17 dwellings and associated works.
Cllr Standley declared an interest as a District Councillor.
No objection provided tenure was limited to local residents in perpetuity
and that the problem of queuing at the junction of Washwell Lane/High Street
junction was addressed by the Highway Authority.
WD/2007/2430/F Groomden Farm, Buckhurst Lane
Demolition of existing buildings and the erection of a new private dwelling
and garaging.
Strongly object as the proposal conflicts with local plan policy DC18 in that clearly it is not of a comparable size and massing and it is out of keeping with the character of the locality, being ostentatious in the extreme. Furthermore, in this day of consideration of sustainability it is questionable whether the proposal would satisfy this requirement
WD/2007/2465/F Chrome Tech, Station Road, Durgates
Installation of 3 mobile telecommunications antennas within a glass fibre reinforced
plastic chimney shroud and associated development.
The simulated chimney is still incongruous in the extreme, its height being out of proportion and far higher than a conventional chimney would be in relation to the roof ridge. It is also described as being painted whereas the drawing indicated brickwork courses which could not be simulated in paintwork. We therefore again strongly object.
WD.2997/2431/F Three Oaks House, Three Oaks Lane
Two storey extension between existing dwelling and outbuilding with associated
alterations.
No objection
WD/516/CM Rock Robin Scrapyard
Provision of a hardcore surface adjacent to the existing scrapyard and installation
of 2 storage containers.
Strongly object to this change of use as a further intrusion into the countryside. It would exacerbate the noise and disturbance and loss of privacy already experienced by the occupants of Rock Robin Cottages and the hardcore surface would facilitate pollution of the subsoil.
WD/2007/2249/LB Walland Oast, Brinkers Lane
Alterations to ground and first floor. Glazed enclosure to part of existing
ground floor deck. New entrance porch and bay window..
No objection.
WD/2007/1720/F Yew TreeFarm, Dewhurst Lane
New replacement dwelling and garage. Variation of previously approved decision.
No objection.
