THE MINUTES OF AN EXTRAORDINARY MEETING OF WADHURST PARISH COUNCIL HELD AT
THE PAVILION, SPARROWS GREEN RECREATION GROUND, ON THURSDAY 20 AUGUST 2009 AT 19:30

Present: Councillors Doyle (Chairman), Bell, Berger, Miss Gadd, Kent, Mamlok, Mrs Monaghan, Phipson, Price, Standley, Miss Whatmore and Wheeler.

Also in attendance:  one member of the public.

1.            TO RECEIVE APOLOGIES AND REASONS FOR ABSENCE
Apologies received from Cllrs. Mrs Colvin and Mrs Pearman; reasons noted and accepted.

2.            TO REVIEW WEALDEN DISTRICT COUNCIL’S CONSULTATION ON THE CORE STRATEGY/SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT OPTIONS OF THE LOCAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK AND CONSIDER THE PARISH COUNCIL’S RESPONSE
11,000 new homes are required to be built in the district by 2026 in accordance with the South East Plan. The Core Strategy consultation presented six options for housing and four options for the provision of additional employment land.

The various housing options were discussed. None of the options were considered suitable and a separate response was agreed (see Appendix 1, Q2).

It was agreed that some additional matters should be put forward as part of the Core Strategy (see Appendix 1, Q6).
